Kilowatt died suddenly alongside his father of just over 12 years on Sunday, February 18th. Kilowatt was purchased by his father, Duncan, in Rockingham North Carolina for just $50 when he was only 8 weeks old. Duncan will tell you it was the best $50 he has ever spent.
Kilowatt quickly became a dog legends are made of, clearly smarter than the average canine, and building loving relationships with all those who came in contact with him. A lover of couches and blankets, Kilowatt had many hobbies. Some of Kilowatt’s favorite activities included barking at things not there, cuddling in the "Dad Spot", sleeping in bed with mom, licking his butt, yelling like a frat boy when it was time to go outside, begging for food, going on adventures, and trying to figure out who exactly was “the good boy.” In his spare time, Kilowatt dreamt violently, thrashing his legs, presumably chasing any chipmunk who dared enter his dreams.
The quickest way to Kilowatt’s heart was with a quality scratch of his rear, or a pat of his velvety soft head. Kilowatt wasn't the type of dog to give kisses, so if you manage to get one you knew it meant that he really loved you, and although he appeared to be permanently disgruntled he loved so much. Kilowatt will be greatly missed by many, but none more so than his dad.
Through thick and thin, they were side by side, and although the pain he feels without him is great, it in no way would compare to having never had him in his life. Besides his father, Kilowatt leaves behind a mother, Stacy, brothers, Ripley, and Liam; grandmother, Eoline; grandpa, Adrian; aunt, Mollie; cousin, Buffy; and so many amazing friends throughout the years. At the wishes of Kilowatt’s family, give your dog an extra hug, belly rub, and treat. Make sure they know exactly who the good boy is.
