Obituary for Shayna "Peanut, Sweetpea, Shaynee, Babe, Squeeky, Baby Girl " Potter

Shayna "Peanut, Sweetpea, Shaynee, Babe, Squeeky, Baby Girl " Potter
Shayna, beloved yellow lab of the Potter family, crossed the rainbow bridge January 26th, 2018. She was born December 17th 2005 to Pacheco’s Kennels in Raynham MA, and adopted on February 6th 2006.
Shayna was also lovingly known as Peanut Sweet Pea, Shaynee, Babe, Squeeky, and Baby Girl, by her family, including John, Matthew, and Frances Potter. She will be missed by her family, and best friends, Bob V., Rosemary G., Rick and Sue S., the wonderful staff at Bay State Vet Specialist, the amazing Portsmouth Vet Clinic staff, the loving Ocean State Vet Specialist staff, all her amazing Facebook friends, and all that cared and loved her to the moon and back.

Among her favorite things, were her toys, her large fuzzy soccer ball, fuzzy John Deer tractor, stuffed animals, tug rope, just to name a few, she also loved sleeping in her doggie bed, or her big bed, or your feet if you let her. She will always be remembered for her love of going for walks, playing ball, and seeing any of her friends, as well as her love of chicken, hot dogs, dente sticks, greenies, carrots, apples, pineapples, peas, string beans, and a lot of other foods.
Shayna didn’t dislike a lot, but when it came to taking medicine, or going for a car ride, she was not the biggest fan.

The family has so many favorite memories, they are said best by the family here:
“When I picked her out, she was a puppy. I picked her up in my arms and she started licking my face, on the way home she laid on my chest and slept the whole way. Taking her to work with me when she was a puppy, and her licking your face when she wants to get up in the morning, but if you ignored her, she would either smack you with her paws or pinch you with her teeth. When we took her for puppy training class, she was afraid of all the little dogs.

When she lost her first tooth, I looked for it, and found it, I still have all the teeth I found. When we would put her in her crate to go out of the house to do things, we would get back and she would be upside down in her crate. When we laid down for bed at night, she would lay down really close to you so if you move, she moved too, pawing you for attention. I remember what it was like giving her the first bath she had ever had, we had put her in the bathtub, got her soaped up, and she climbed up and over us to get out, it always took two people to bathe her.

Giving her her first toy is on the top of the list of favorite memories of course. Winter was a special time for Shayna, she loved playing in the snow. She also loved watching Santa go about his December Christmas ride through Portsmouth. Shayna was a fighter, up until her last days, she spent her whole life filled with energy and love for everything and everyone she met, even with the two forms of cancer she fought. We will miss you Baby Girl, say Hello to everyone, tell them we will see them soon. Rest in Peace.”
