Chance Sousa, loving Cairn Terrier of Christopher and Amanda Sousa, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge September 27, 2017.
Chance was adopted on July 4, 2007 after the Sousa’s visited several animal shelters in search of the perfect dog. Getting ready to call it quits, they made one last stop. There was a little old lady speaking to the receptionist about giving up her small dog. They approached the woman and saw the dog. It was love at first sight.
Chance was also lovingly known as Chancey, Chancellor, Diddle, Chancekin and Mr. Man by his family, including his siblings, Logan and Milani Sousa, and best friends, Casper and Comet. His favorite toys were tennis balls, squeaky toys and stuffed animals.
Chance loved being anywhere or doing anything with his family. He was especially fond of long car rides, catching a ball, playing soccer and tug of war. He was not a fan of windshield wipers, the vacuum and kitty cats. His favorite place to sleep was a basket of clean laundry. He would eat anything he could get his paws on, but loved eating a whole apple from your hand, right around the core.
The Sousa family will always remember Chance being pushed in a swing beside Logan and Milani; the time the family dressing up as characters from the Wizard of Oz, Chance being Toto; playing in the backyard with the bunny, Mercedes; family soccer, volleyball, frisbee and baseball. The family will forever cherish these memories as they say goodbye to their beloved Chance.
